the world’s best moisturizer

if i were stranded on a deserted island and could only take three
things with me, i would take:
burt’s bees chapstick
mark. matte chance mattifying lotion
and johnson’s 24 hour lotion
ok, maybe not. but those are three of my absolute favorite products that i use on a daily basis.
first, chapstick…i’ve talked about it before. and i’m sure i’ll talk about it again. i’m addicted. there is no worse feeling than when you feel the chapstick is almost gone from your lips and your lips are instantly dry and feeling like they’re going to fall off your face [i’m in a dramatic mood today]. but really, chapstick is a must-have for me. always and everywhere.
secondly, mark.’s matte chance mattifying lotion is the bomb. that’s right, i did just use that term from the 90’s to describe this facial moisturizer. for years i struggled to find the right facial moisturizer that would do it’s job but not look greasy or feel heavy and i couldn’t find anything. i also have super sensitive skin so basically every time i tried a new product, my face would break out in these crazy little bumps and i wanted to wear a face mask everywhere. although, i think wearing a face mask would be a little more alarming to people than just having this crazy allergic reaction all over my skin. anyways, after much scouring of target’s beauty department and the internet, i finally found my number one all-time favorite, best in the world, couldn’t ask for more facial moisturizer.
that’s where this little gem comes in:
not only does it moisturize like a champ, but it’s matte. [hallelujah, hallelujah!]
no shine, no grease, no extra foundation to cover the reflection from your lotion. this baby does it for you. oh, and did i mention it’s only $18? amazing.
and thirdly, my johnson’s 24 hour lotion. i discovered this stuff years ago and have been using it ever since. much like the lotion above, it’s not greasy or heavy. it moisturizes and soaks right into the skin so you don’t have that “i put lotion on 20 minutes ago but it still feels wet” feeling.
oh, and i’m pretty sure it was made for babies, so you know it’s going to be soft.

Lauren, Does the matte cause any acne or little bumps? Looking for a good moisturizer, but face stays oily. Let me know, Thanks, Kim 🙂

i can totes relate to the whole crazy chopstick addiction…it's almost like if my lips are dry and I need chapstick but didn't get a chance to apply I get in a bad mood my sister always says "you need you cigarettes" lol I've never smoked but she likens my addiction to someone who needs to smoke but can't- I am sure you've seen these people…they get antsy and short and when they finally get to smoke they inhale and relax…lol. I doubt I am that bad but I just needed to tell you you aren't alone with the lip balm debacle 🙂
