What cleaner do you use?
OMG I'M DOING THIS EXACT POST THIS WEEK.
I just cleaned my brushes a couple nights ago 🙂 I use my philosophy purity face wash to clean them. What did you use in this post?
Just did this last weekend & it made such a difference! I used a Birchbox sample of the Beauty Blender cleanser & loved it!
I like using baby shampoo to clean my brushes! Great post! xo
NEED to do this.also, need NEW brushes in general.

Question: is there a way to prevent the bristles on the brush from sticking out when the brush is dry? I always find that after I clean the inside of the brush, the hair sticks out in different directions, which makes the brush kind of useless. Do I just need to buy better brushes?
Try not to push into the brush from the tip of the bristles. If you are trying to get to the middle go thought the sides, close to the handle and work the cleanser down. I Hope I'm explaining this ok. After rinsing, reshape the brush and dry flat. Fluff them back up when they are dry. 🙂
Thanks Jenna! I'll give that a try 🙂
Lauren, how often should I be washing my makeup brushes? We'll assume I use them 5-7 times per week. Thanks!

Sephora has a daily cleaner that you just spray on. They also have a shampoo. I personally shampoo my brushes on Saturdays and use the daily cleaner each morning after I apply my make up. (Well usually unless I am running late!)
great to know! i def need to clean my brushes! xo
I've been wondering for some time on the proper way to clean my makeup brushes. Great tutorial!
I love that sephora brush shampoo. my favorite!
I also use philosophy's purity to clean my brushes, or plain ol' Bath and Body Works anti-bacterial pump soap. I don't clean them nearly as much as I should. Err, maybe once every other month? I know, I'm bad. 🙂
Thank you for this! My brushes are just about due, and I was considering purchasing a different cleaner for them. You just gave me an option.
This is exactly what I do!
I use Paula Dorff "Brush Out Bath" and I clean them twice a month. I don't use them often so its not to clean for product build up but for bacteria prevention. 🙂
I think your pictures are out of order!
