i have a tendency to re-organize, re-decorate, and re-think rooms often. i like to keep things fresh and find new ways to use my furniture and decor. it's cool to see how a room can be transformed just by changing where the furniture is located in the room, too.
i found myself re-arranging our entire living room on New Year's Day, completely unplanned. with the new year, i've felt the need to organize, clean, and purge, so it makes sense that one of the rooms that had been untouched would fall victim to me.

once the work was done, i just sat in the room and couldn't believe how much bigger it felt. it was like the square footage doubled in size when i was wrangling the couch into its new spot.

the final piece is to get a new, bigger area rug for the room. i've had this shag for a few years and, while i love it, i'm looking for something a little different. of course, as soon as i decide that i want to shop for a new rug, all the stores in the tri-state area rid their shelves of anything i'm even remotely interested in,'s a work in progress.
