I’m excited for this weekend because it’s the first weekend that I am home in about six weeks! It’s been a very busy end of the summer, and doesn’t seem to be letting up until about Thanksgiving, so I’m trying to take advantage of these weekends while I can. I have a few things planned already, like finally going on an Architecture Boat Tour, which I’ve wanted to do since I moved to the city three years ago. I fully intend on taking advantage of being able to sleep in, which really just means not setting an alarm, but still being awake before 8am.
I’ve been wanting to get some house plants for awhile now and finally pulled the trigger this week. I went to this garden center, which is awesome, and left with a Money Tree and a beautiful Fern. They’re supposed to be pretty hard to kill, so we’ll see how this goes…
I’ve mentioned on here that I was itching for a new Fall bag but couldn’t find anything that I really like. Well, that changed. I’ve always loved the classic and beautiful leather bags that Madewell puts out and when I saw that they were on sale for 30% off, I knew I wanted to pull the trigger. I wasn’t sure on which size, so I ordered this one and this one. I’m leaning towards the smaller one, but will just have to wait and see them in person. They’re expected to be delivered early next week – I’m excited!
Also, did you guys know that Baggu makes tiny bags? I have 2 regular-sized bags, which I’ve bought from J.Crew in the past, and use all the time. BUT THE TINY ONES ARE SO CUTE! This is one of those things that makes me wish I worked outside the home, because I would totally use that as my lunch bag. I use my Baggu bags for carrying packages to the post office, groceries, shoes in a suitcase – the options are pretty much endless.

When my best friend and I visited Chicago last September we went on an architectural boat tour and loved it. I highly recommend it! Your city has so many lovely buildings and it was cool to learn about each architectural period. 🙂 Have fun with your houseplants….they can be addicting! I think I have about 18 now……
I've been on the boat tour. Loved it. I was so pleasantly surprised when I visit Chicago for the first time. Such a beautiful city. I loved the wide, clean sidewalks. The food is outstanding too. And, don't even get me started on the Chicago Mix at Garrett's Popcorn.
I have the smaller madewell bag and absolutely love it! I've used it consistently since I purchased it last fall. The quality is amazing and it's so durable.
The boat tour is AMAZING! So glad my friend and I did it when we went to the city! I cant wait for fall weather, GET HERE ALREADY!! Lol
