Wedding Update, No.3

Guys, it's almost April, which means there's only three full months left until our wedding day! OH MY. It's going to fly by, as if it hasn't already. Every past bride I've talked to has told me how quickly everything goes by they're not lying. Between work, preparing for marriage, maintaining a social life AND planning a wedding, time seems to escape me most days. I've reached the point where I'm very much looking forward to the wedding day, mostly because it means all the decisions will have been made!

We've made some serious progress, which is wonderful. I had our first meeting with the company who will be doing all of the styling for the wedding and it was so fun! I loved being able to talk through the details and get a vision for the day and what it will look like. I'm so anxious to go back next month to make selections and actually see the things we chatted about.

We have our tasting with the caterer next week and I'm counting down the days! I'm so anxious to try all the food and make those selections, too. Cake tasting will come the following month, which I'm equally as excited for.

We've made good progress on our honeymoon plans, too! I'm looking forward to getting that nailed down in the next couple weeks and being able to fully check that off the list. Also, I cannot wait to travel around Europe with Mike - it will be such a cool way for us to start our marriage off.

My bachelorette weekend has been booked! My sister and best friend have planned it all without telling me a thing, so I'm completely in the dark!

Next big things on our list:

- figure out parking and transportation for guests

- start planning the feel, focus and flow of our ceremony

- picking Mike's tie and pocket square, which has been surprisingly difficult

- pick out and order invitations!

There's been progress, but the list of to-do's still seems daunting. I'm looking forward to seeing the tangible things - like the tasting and the next meeting with event styling - to see the fruits of some of the work that has already been done.

P.S. I bought those swimsuits for our honeymoon - how cute are they?!

  1. Oh, you're going to have so much fun! We're getting married in June and our timeline is just about a month ahead of yours, so I feel you. I laughed when you said that picking a pocket square was difficult because that's how I felt about ordering all of the paper goods for the wedding (invitations, table numbers, place cards, etc.) We have a wedding planner who has taken care of all of the logistics, which has been great (and truly relatively stress-free!), so I think the invitations stressed me out because it was literally the only decision I really had to make on my own! My mom and sister were laughing at me saying, "just pick one already!" but I scoured Minted and WPD for hours trying to find the perfect ones. Bridal brain ;)

I'm so happy for you guys! What book did you say you were reading? We have our first marriage counseling session on Monday, but I'd like to do some reading on my own, just to prepare my own heart. Any suggestions?

    Happy planning! It's fun, isn't it? :)

  2. It does fly by! Try to enjoy it! I say that, and I'm getting married a week apart from yall! It's hard to keep reminding myself that it's supposed to be fun and not stressful, but I'm trying! Invites and flowers have been the most fun, I think! I just put in my order, so excited about that!! Good luck!!!

    1. Flowers are SO fun, right? Definitely my favorite part, too! We're getting married a little over a month before Lauren, so our timeline is close as well. Congrats to you!

  3. I love your comment about how difficult it is picking out the grooms tie/pocket square that was SO HARD for us. We had to have ordered over 20 samples before just picking one (mainly because I was sick of looking at ties! haha)

  4. WOW!!!
This is the most wonderful thing i have ever experience and i need to share this great testimony.
About how i get my ex back after a breakup.
I never believed it, because i never heard nor learn anything about it before.
Hey guys my wife and I have been married for 15 years. For over five years I have been dealing with jealousy issues because of flirting and her having emotional type affairs with other men. I felt like my masculinity was in question and if I said the way she was acting bothered me, it seemed to make matters worse or I was accused of being controling. During this period I did state I wanted a divorce if the behavior was not going to end: texting men a night, leaving for the weekend without letting me know where she was going or not responding to messages. We do have a son and basically it's been him and I for the last year on the weekends. She disconnected completely from being a good wife and mother. In April she said she wanted a separation and I said no we need to get into marriage counseling. We did try that, but she was not very responsive and didn't give any effort. Afterward she was adamant about separation and divorce. I continued to say no and that we needed to save our family. She presented a separation agreement and I had to hire a lawyer. Because of the above behavior my lawyer suggested a private investigator. The investigator discovered my wife was having an affair with a close friend of the family who also is married with children. We know the extended families. I feel like I should tell this man's wife about what happened. This adultery has devastated me emotionally, I feel betrayed and I'm physically drained. I know my wife is passionate in terms of her sexuality, and I can't get the thought of them out of my head. It makes me question my own manhood, and I feel very inferior or that he must be a better lover or what ever. The problem is my wife pursued him. She would go to him and she lured him into this adultery. I felt this was coming for some time and could not stop it. She was not only lying to me but also to our son about what she was doing and where she was going. My family is important, my son loves her and as crazy as it sounds so do I. Can you respond with a course of action on how to proceed? I was still have a very huge place in my heart for her. so i searched for help online and I came across a website that suggested that Dr Ahmed can help solve marital problems, restore broken relationships and so on. So I felt I should give him a try. I contacted him and he told me what to do and i did it then he did a spell for me. 28 hours later, my wife came to me and apologized for the wrongs she did and promise never to do it again. Ever since then, everything has returned back to normal. I, my son and my wife are living together happily again.. All thanks to Dr Ahmed. as it is a place to resolve marriage/relationship issues, do you want to be sure if your spouse is being faithful to you or Do you want your Ex to come back to you Contact.: E-mail: or call/Whats-app: +2348160153829 save your crumbling home and change of grades its 100% safe. My name is Michael Lee a citizen of Illinois, USA. i have been scammed by 7 different Internet international lender, they all promise to give me a loan after making me pay several fees which yield nothing and amounted to no positive result. i lost my hard earn money and it was a total of 23930USD. One day as i was browsing through the internet with tears on my eye i came across a testimony of man who was also scammed and eventually got linked to a legit loan company called MARTINEZ LEXIE LOAN COMPANY where he finally got his loan, so i decided to contact the same loan company and then told them my story on how i have been scammed by 7 different lenders who did nothing but to course me more pain. I explain to the company by mail and all they told me was to cry no more because i will get my loan in their company and also i have made the right choice of contacting them. I filled the loan application form and proceeded with all that was requested of me and to my greatest surprise my loan was granted to me without further delay and here i am today happy because Martinez Lexie Loan Company HAS GIVEN ME A REASON TO LIVE, so i made a vow to my self that i will keep testifying on the internet on how i got my loan.
