Each new season brings wardrobe changes. As a person who loves to express my creativity and aesthetic through my personal style, this is my favorite thing about the changing of the seasons! It's like a fresh start - a chance to refine my personal style and try new things. Each new season has its new trends and fads; some of which I'll adopt, some I'll leave to others. This fall, there are five things in my closet that I keep reaching for when putting together an outfit.

The one trend that I'm more than happy to get on board with this fall is the heeled bootie trend. I love a good pair of booties, so naturally, I love a good pair of booties with a heel. They're the perfect type of shoe for dressing up a casual outfit. My daily style is pretty casual and laid-back, so having a pair of heels in my closet that are comfortable and fit into my aesthetic is key.

"Fall" and "thermal" go hand-in-hand, right? There's nothing like a crisp Fall day spent outside - I love it! Cooler temps mean warmer layers, so thermals are my friend in the Fall. I have this thermal cardigan in three colors, which I wear all the time. I love it with leggings and a tee shirt or over my favorite tank dress. I also have this thermal top in two colors -- it's a winner!

Thermal items naturally feel more casual to me, so I like to have more basic cardigans for layering. This cardigan is so. good. I can't even express it fully in words. I have it in two colors, but would very easily wear it in every single color they offer. It's perfect in any situation - with a dress, with a tee and jeans, with leggings and a tunic, you name it. It's longer than a standard cardigan, so it layers really well. Plus, it has gloriously big pockets, which brings my heart joy.

While I keep a pretty neutral wardrobe, I do love a good stripe. Neutrals can feel somewhat bland sometimes, so adding in a different pattern or texture can help mix things up without going outside of my comfort zone. Plus, stripes look especially great layered under a cozy cardigan, if you ask me. I love this striped top for the Fall (the feminine peplum cut is a special touch!).

Of course the clothes are important, but you can't forget about accessories! I love a good bag - in fact, if there was only one type of accessory I could buy from now on, it would be bags. I could do with just a couple pairs of shoes and very limited jewelry, but need my options for purses. I'm drawn to warmer tones in the cooler weather, so a classic grey bag is a perfect option. I love this one from last year.
