My “Five Minute Face”

In a normal work week (Monday-Friday), I go through the full “getting ready” process once or twice. Working from home, I don’t have a whole lot of need (or desire) to spend an hour in the morning doing my hair and full makeup. Not to mention, I usually do it on the weekends, so I like to give my skin and hair a break whenever I can!
For the days that I’m keeping things simple, I like to do what I call my “five minute face”. It’s a quick routine that wakes my face up a bit without feeling like I’ve wasted time and product.

It’s a super simple routine that takes, at most, six quick steps. I love having a tried and true, super quick beauty routine in my back pocket, just in case I’m in a situation where I feel like I need a little makeup but am super limited on time. This fits the bill!

STEP ONE: CONCEALER
I’m not afraid to leave the house without a stitch of makeup on, but if I had to pick just one product to apply before going out in public, it would be concealer. It’s hard to beat a well-rested and balanced looking face, if you ask me! I use it Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer under my eyes and, if needed, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer on blemishes or around my nose, to balance redness. I apply with a wet beauty blender.

STEP TWO: POWDER
Since I’ve brightened and balanced parts of my face now, I like to apply a light dusting of my powder foundation over the rest of my face. It covers over any shine from sleeping and evens out my color.

STEP THREE: BRONZER/BLUSH
I’m naturally very fair skinned, so I like to add a little life to my skin with a touch of bronzer and some blush from this palette.

STEP FOUR: BROWS
I may amend my previous statement and say that I’d prefer to have filled-in brows over concealer, if having to choose just one. It’s a toss up! I love using Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer to fill-in my brows according to my natural brow lines and then set with this gel.

STEP FIVE: LASHES
On these light makeup days, I don’t feel the need to waste my favorite mascara, so I swipe on my favorite drugstore mascara instead. I don’t curl my lashes or anything, so it’s just a couple layers of product on my top and lower lashes and that’s it!

STEP SIX: LIPS
I’ll usually apply this lip mask to moisturize. Occasionally, if I’m feeling like a need a little more life and color to my face, I’ll opt for the Dior Addict Lip Glow in Lilac!

All in all, it takes me just five minutes to go through this routine. It helps me feel a bit more put together without requiring much effort, which I love. I’ll usually work some dry shampoo into my hair and throw on some comfortable clothes and I’m ready for the day!

That lilac glow lip balm is such a beautiful colour! I now want it in my makeup bag for spring, so badly.

It's a great option for a tinted balm that amplifies your natural lip color!

I love the color/coverage of the bye bye concealer, but I find that it creases and looks "melty" after a while..have you noticed that at all? Wondering if i need to apply with a brush or if im using too much product?

Love this! I, too, have a go-to, quick morning routine and have been wanting to make a blog post about it. But, by no means am I a "beauty guru", so I never knew how to go about it. Thanks for the inspiration! Love the post!
