My Favorite Lip Masks

You know the whole, ‘desert island’ game? You can only choose x amount of items to take with you on a deserted island and you have to somehow choose just one or a couple of things? My answer, always, is a lip product. When it comes to skin, feeling dry is one of the most uncomfortable things. Whether it’s my legs or my lips, I don’t want any part of me to feel dry. Hence, I’d take a moisturizing lip product with me to a dang island!

Because I love moisturizing lip balms and masks, I’ve tried quite a few. For many, many years, I was a classic chapstick girl. I’d always have a stick of it in my pocket or purse. As my beauty horizons have been opened a bit, I’ve discovered the two products that I love the absolute most for moisturized, nice looking lips. One I’ve been using for years, and the other that is a newer find to me. While they both ultimately serve the same purpose of adding moisture to my lips, I use them a bit differently and like them for different reasons.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

I’ve been using this mask for about a year now. I can’t remember what enticed me to try it, but I’m so glad that I did! I use it every single night as I’m getting into bed. It’s a great, lightweight lip product that doesn’t feel sticky or too heavy on my lips for sleeping. I put it on after I’ve done my evening skincare routine, brushed my teeth, and am crawling into bed. When I wake, I can still feel that there is product on my lips, which means that they haven’t dried out over night! My lips look properly moisturized and healthy! The original mask (it also comes in vanilla) has a very subtle pink tint to it, so if you were to wear it during the day, it will enhance the natural color of your lips a little bit! I keep this one on my nightstand since I use it in the evening. The only reasons it’s not my all-the-time lip product is because it comes in a sizable jar that I don’t want to carry in my purse and I don’t want to have to apply a lip product with my fingers while out in public (germs!). That leads me into why I love the other one!

Bite Agave Lip Mask

My ride or die. It’s the one product I would recommend to any human being on the planet. Seriously. It keeps my lips feeling moisturized for hours, comes in a a great-sized tube for easy application, and doesn’t leave any sort of stickiness or residue. It is so good. Much like my chapstick back in high school, you can always find a tube of this on me. I use this one throughout the day, if I’m not wearing a lipstick. Or it works great on top of a matte or semi-drying lipstick – it will add some moisture back into your lips without taking away or changing the color of the lipstick or being sticky like a clear lip gloss. If I’m traveling and kept my makeup/skincare products pretty simple, I’ll also sleep with this one. It’s a teeny bit heavier than the other mask, but that’s really the only difference. It comes in a few color options, too! I’ve tried Champagne, which adds just a hint of color and just as much of the good stuff!

If you haven’t tried either and are interested in trying just one, I would tell you to try the Bite Mask, but only because it’s a little easier to take with you on the go and apply.

You should try the sleeping lip mask from innisfree. My lips are moisturized and noticeably plump in the morning. I love it!
