My Favorite Bras

Let’s chat bras. I would liken bra shopping to jeans shopping – generally unpleasant, usually plagued with a lot of misses, but a great deal of joy when you find the one. You know what I mean? Bra shopping can be a strenuous process, at least for me. I’m the girl that takes my bra off almost as soon as I walk over the threshold of my home, so I require quite a bit of comfort when it comes to that article of clothing. I’m also pretty picky about the shape that the bra provides. I like a full-coverage cup that provides a great, even shape. I wear a t-shirt bra as often as possible (#comfort) and used to loathe wearing a strapless bra (until I found one that is actually comfortable!). In case you’re in a similar boat, I thought I would share my favorite bras to wear. I’ve pulled the trigger on a couple of these based on reviews alone, so if you’re like me and want to hear from someone who has actually worn it, I’ve got you!

Aerie Romantic Lace Plunge Bralette

We all know my love for this lace bralette, so I won’t belabor the point. I will, however, share again that I’ve heard from women of many cup sizes and shapes that this is the best bralette they’ve worn! It comes in 9 colors and varies in sizing from 28B to 40DD. I have it in a few colors and wear them a couple days a week. If you’re not quite sure how to style one, I shared seven ways to style a bralette. You can shop the color options here, or black and white here.

Natori Rose Dream Custom Coverage Bra

This is my go-to bra for everyday wear. It has a great natural shape, good coverage, and comfortable straps.  I love that the cups are plain (no lace or anything), so that you don’t see anything, even with a thin shirt. It comes in a wide range of sizes and 5 different colors. It’s included in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so it’s currently over 30% off! (But I would gladly pay full price for it!)

Aerie Real Sunnie Full Coverage Bra

This is a great bra if I’m wearing a top that I want a little more lift with. The lace across the band is pretty and adds a nice feminine touch. It has good coverage and the fabric is super soft and luxurious feeling. I find the band on Aerie bras to run a little small (probably a matter of the fiber content they use versus other brands), so I would consider sizing up one in the band size, if you can.

Wacoal Convertible Strapless Bra

If you have ever needed or wanted a strapless bra, I cannot recommend this one enough! I spent years doing everything in my power to avoid situations and clothes that would require strapless bras because I hated wearing them. This one covers all the bases: creates a natural shape (none of the weird boob-cut-in-half look from the side), is comfortable, and STAYS in place all day, truly. I think one key to that is making sure you get the right size, but once you find it, you won’t have to look for another strapless bra again! I actually look forward to wearing things that require this bra now because it’s more comfortable than any bra with standard straps.

I would love to try the Natori bra but have heard comments that the sizing is way off both band and cup size? And that Natori is best for smaller chested women? What are your thoughts on this? I normally wear a 34DD and love full coverage!

Sizing was spot on for me! I’d recommend reading through reviews to see what the general consensus would be on sizing and recommendations 🙂

Natori bras are my absolute favorite! I’m not small chested at all and have had no trouble with sizing and fit. They are awesome!
