Travel Bags

Are you doing much/any traveling this Summer? As I mentioned in this post, we have a few overnight and weekend trips planned for the next couple of months, which I’m excited about! With Mike having a regular schedule for the first time in 2 years, I wasn’t sure that we would be able to do much, but we’ve been able to make room for it!

My biggest thing when packing is making sure that I’m staying organized and that everything has a place. I find that when everything has a place, I’m less likely to forget things while packing, as well as forget things at the destination when packing up to return home! I’m not a last minute person, so I give myself plenty of time to choose what I’m bringing with me on a trip and how I want to have it all organized.

I usually put my small things, like makeup, toiletries, accessories, in smaller pouches and bags. I like to have a bigger tote bag to use as my carry-on on the plane, which holds things like my iPad, headphones, snacks, my purse, water, and possibly a change of clothes for the destination. When we’re traveling internationally, I almost always pack a backpack as my carry-on because it’s much more comfortable to wear around!

If I’m doing a quick trip to my sister’s or we’re just going away for one night, I’ll pack up a weekender bag that has different sections and pockets to keep it all organized. If we’re flying somewhere for just a weekend, I always bring my carry-on suitcase, which has built-in dividers and organizers to keep everything in place and safe while en route!

Do you use packing cubes? I’ve recently started and they’re amazing! They make unpacking at my destination a breeze.
