A Little Bit of Leopard

If you’ve been in any retail store or looked online at any clothes whatsoever anywhere at all, you have seen that leopard print is in for fall! Admittedly, leopard is not really my go-to print. I would probably opt for a stripe or a subtle floral print first, but I do love that it’s a neutral option. While you probably won’t find me in head-to-toe of this print, I’m all about adding some of it into my wardrobe in small doses.

In case you want to get in on the trend but don’t really know where to start, I’d suggest starting small – a belt, some shoes, or a cute crossbody bag. That’s how I like to wear this print most. It works really well with a neutral or simple outfit, adding a little pop of something interesting while staying on trend! If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, get a fun scarf or headband. For me, if I’m going to wear it in a piece of clothing, I like to go for less traditional leopard print look, like that cute oversized sweatshirt. Opting for a bold print like this in a less traditional color way, like greys and blacks, is a fun way to sort of dip your toes in the water without committing to a full-on leopard piece.

So, what do you think? Will you be adding anything leopard to your closet for this upcoming season?

I hate the whole animal print thing. Hate it. So much. Maybe it’s because a lot of the trashier girls in my high school wore it, or maybe it’s because I usually look like I lost a bet whenever I try to wear a current trend. I DO enjoy the unexpected pop on those sneakers, though. Have you worn that style of headband? I’ve seen them around and want to try it, but don’t know how to beat style that type of band.

I’ve seen that headband but need to see it on someone to figure out how to wear it. If you have it, I hope you style it for us soon!

When my daughter was about 4 I grabbed some ballet flats in leopard print, mostly because they were on major clearance and they could work as something fun to go with her red Christmas dress. Leopard was NOT my thing and I just thought, well we will wear them once for the dress and then be done. MUCH to my surprise, they went with everything! 😱 She got as much wear out of those shoes as possible and I ended up loving them with most everything. I had never viewed leopard as a neutral before then, but they truly were. The next year we did a leopard cardi and the same thing happened! It was better than having a solid navy or black one! Who would have ever thought?! Not me!
