A Simple Eyeshadow Look with a New Palette

As is typical with my very regular trips to Target, I often walk out of the store with a couple things that I didn’t go in for. I know many of you can relate to the blacking out that happens as soon as I cross over the threshold into that glorious place. The great thing is, the non-list items I leave with are usually great and well worth the few bucks I spend on them! My most recent unintended purchase is this beautiful eyeshadow palette. I’ve used several e.l.f. eyeshadows in the past and really liked them, so when I saw all of these pretty shades together for less than $15, I knew I’d get good use out of it!

I finally got around to experimenting with it and am impressed with the color selection and staying power of the shadows that I used! I like to do a very subtle smokey eye for my everyday shadow (when I’m doing a full face of makeup, which is about 2 days a week). I prefer shimmer to matte and cool tones to warm. This is how it turned out and I liked it!

It’s subtle enough for daytime, but could easily be amped up and refreshed for evening. In my experience e.l.f. shadows wear well throughout the day, but only when I use my eyeshadow primer with them. This is the only primer that has stood the test of time for me and is worth every single penny, in my opinion. I wear shade, “Painterly“. I also will apply a little bit heavier than I want the final look to be, to account for any fallout that may happen in the first hour or two of the day.

Here’s what I did to create the look:

I use this fluffy eyeshadow brush for steps one and two, this blending brush for step three, and this smudge brush for step four. As previously mentioned, I always start by applying my eyeshadow primer all over my lid with my finger tip. To finish the look, I add some eyeliner and mascara!

Such a gorgeous palette! I have the e.lf. cosmetics opposites attract palette from this line and really enjoy the pigment and shadow quality.

    I would definitely grab another!
