Savoring My Quiet Mornings & A New Coffee Discovery

With the impending arrival of our first baby, I’m starting to realize that I need to be savoring my slow and quiet mornings as much as possible! I love the mornings. If I could get myself to go to sleep early enough every night, I’d wake at 5am, make myself a cup of coffee, and just enjoy the peace and quiet of the world around me. 5am wake up calls are in my future, I’m sure, but they may not be quite as peaceful. While I’ve always got a to-do list and things I hope to accomplish, I’m choosing to give myself a little more grace over these next couple months and really enjoy my favorite time of day, without stress or feeling like I need to get to work as soon as I wake.

My absolute favorite thing in the morning is getting that cup of fresh coffee and taking the first sip. It’s just so dang satisfying. Most work day mornings, I’ll brew my coffee, sit down to my laptop at our kitchen counter, and do my initial scroll for the day. If it’s a day that I have a new blog post up, I’ll make sure it has published and share it on social media. Then I’ll typically think through my goals for the day, the things I want to get done and the things that need to get done. I’ll make my list and think through how I want to structure my day.

While I most often use my Keurig to make my coffee, I’ve gone through some phases in the past of brewing other ways, like with the French press. Most recently, I’ve tried this Vietnamese pour-over from Copper Cow Coffee and it is delicious. It’s a very cool concept and super easy to use, so if you’re a coffee lover like me, keep reading! Copper Cow Coffee comes in packs of five, or you can buy a bundle set, and you’ll get 5 packets of pour over coffee and 5 creamers. Each coffee is individually wrapped, so you just open one package, set it up on your mug, and pour over your hot water. If you’re a creamer girl like me, add in a little bit of the creamer, and you’ve got yourself a freshly brewed cup of coffee!

Not only is it easy to make, but I love that you can easily take it on the go with you. If you’re traveling or heading into the office and don’t have time go make coffee at home, you can just grab your coffee pack and creamer and all you need is some hot water. My favorite from the bundle is the Churro Latte – it’s got just a hint of cinnamon to give it good flavor without overwhelming you!

With this new-to-me pourover, my morning coffee routine got bumped up a couple notches. I feel a little fancy while brewing it, plus I get to enjoy a coffee shop quality cup from the comfort of my home, which is exactly where I want to be every morning!

I love discovering new “little luxuries” in life, even something as simple as brewing a cup of coffee in the morning. I think that because it’s not my usual way of doing things and it requires a little extra work than just pushing a button, I feel like I’m creating something for myself that I then get to enjoy. It’s in these little moments of doing something a little extra that I allow myself to take my mind off of everything else and focus on taking care of me.

Now excuse me while I go enjoy another cup of coffee!

Maybe I’m clueless but can you buy the actual brewer on the website as well. I couldn’t seem to find it. Is there a link for that? Or did you purchase it somewhere else? Thanks 🙂

What do you mean by brewer? The glass container that is holding my hot water? If so, that’s just a French press that I removed the lid from.
