Gift Guide: Babies and Kids

A few gift ideas for the little ones! I’m not planning on getting much for Liam, since he has plenty right now, but I will get him something for his first Christmas! I’m planning to give him an ornament every year, so that by time he is in his own house with his own Christmas tree, he will have a nice collection of ornaments to decorate with.

Several of these items are things we love and use all the time – the sound machine/night light, the piano gym, and the play kits. If opting for toys, I love the idea of giving something with an educational element, like the alphabet puzzle or the little cafe tent – they can learn about running a business! A sentimental item, like a lovie or a cozy blanket is useful and meaningful.

Other gift ideas:

  • Books! I love getting books for Liam, since we usually read them before his naps and he can hold onto them forever!
  • A contribution to a savings account. If you don’t want to give another toy or material item, but want to do something special for the holidays, making a contribution to a savings (or similar) account is a great idea!
  • An activity, like going to dessert or a trip to the zoo – something special for older kids to look forward to with you!
  • If you’re at a loss, ask mom or dad what would be helpful to them. It could be something simple like a box of diapers or some sleepers.

I have that adorable fox lovely/stuffed animal. It was such a sweet gift from my boss and it matches our nursery. Couldn’t recommend it enough!
