Frequently Asked Questions
Is blogging your full-time job?
At this point, blogging is not my full-time job. While that’s something that may evolve in the future, I’m really happy putting a lot of time and energy into my retail business, Elisabeth Ashlie.
Do you make money from blogging?
I do! I make money two ways: sponsored content and affiliate marketing. Sometimes you’ll see content around here that is sponsored by a brand, like this collaboration with Nordstrom. Most often, I earn money through affiliate links from brands that I use and love. Basically, I’m advertising for free for a company by wearing their tee shirt, so if you see it, love it, and click through to buy it, the company gives me a small percentage of commission for advertising for them.
How can I shop your Instagram feed?
There’s two ways you can shop my feed. This page will populate with all of my most recent shoppable photos, which you can just click on and select which product(s) you’re interested in. If you don’t like the idea of having to click through from Instagram to my blog to shop, you can sign up for FREE for and shop photos very easily. I use for following other bloggers and influencers and love it. It’s the easiest way to find a direct link to items that I see and am interested in purchasing. You can choose how/if you want to receive emails of the photos that you like, or if you’d rather shop using the app, which I use! Once you learn how to use it, which doesn’t take long, it’s so easy and helpful.
What kind of camera do you use?
For shooting blog content, I use a Canon Rebel T6i with a 50mm f/1.8 STM lens (and occasionally the kit lens, which is 18-55mm). If you’re in the market for a DSLR, I highly recommend this combo! With rare exception, I use my iPhone 8+ to shoot all photos for social media. I edit with A Color Story, which I have a quick tutorial for here.

• Where are your favorite places to shop?
I love Nordstrom for the variety of brands, products, price points, and they’re free shipping and returns! Madewell is my favorite place to buy denim. Lou & Grey and Aerie are my favorite for loungewear. Athleta is my favorite fitness-wear brand. I love the occasional gem that I’ll find at Anthropologie, too!
How do you curl your hair?
One of my most asked questions! I have a full video tutorial here.
What mascara do you use? Tell me about your eyelashes!
I swear by this mascara for lengthening and thickening of lashes. I have naturally full and long lashes, so I have a bit of an upper-hand when it comes to full/thick lashes, but this mascara is amazing! I’ve never done anything to my lashes – they’re totally natural.
