Two Holiday Party Outfit Ideas

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is all the opportunities to gather and celebrate with loved ones! While we see our families and friends throughout the year, it’s a great excuse to intentionally get together, enjoying the festivity of the season and indulging in some good food and drink. Another bonus: the chance to get dressed up! My usual style is very casual, but I love to use a party as a good excuse to pull out my heels and fancier options.

While I love a good excuse to change up my usual look, I still want to feel like myself in my clothes, you know? I want to wear fabrics, colors, and styles that are true to who I am and what I like, even if they aren’t something I would wear on an average Tuesday. Banana Republic’s winter and party selection is right up my alley. Between the rich colors, luxe fabrics, and pretty silhouettes, I could put together 10+ outfits with the snap of a finger. My favorite thing about the selection? I can create my favorite mix of laidback, like a hoodie sweater, with dressed up, like a pretty skirt.

This hoodie sweater, in particular, is one of my favorite new pieces in my closet because of its versatility. I love the “casual cool” element it adds to a skirt and heels outfit, but it would also work well with black jeans and pointed toe flats, leggings and sneakers, or ripped blue jeans and an embellished shoe. I’m a big fan of any item being styled multiple ways, so I love that!

For a more dressed up, sophisticated look, I love this satin skirt paired with this fuzzy sweater. When keeping my color palette and accessorizing simple, I like to add in some interest to an outfit by mixing textures and materials. The pretty movement of the satin skirt paired with the softness of the fuzzy sweater create enough of a look on their own that I don’t feel the need to add to it.

This satin skirt is one of those “closet staple” items for me. It can easily be dressed up like this for the holidays, special events, or parties. Alternatively, you can dress it down with a graphic tee and sneakers, or land somewhere in the middle with a simple bodysuit and booties.

It’s never a bad thing to have options when it comes to the pieces you add to your closet, right? Here are a few more versatile options:

If you’re shopping for a Christmas or New Year’s Eve party outfit, Banana Republic’s selection is definitely worth checking out! I’m not usually a sequin dress girl, but this one is tempting me into changing my mind on that!
