Sandals for Spring & Summer

Sandal season has (mostly) arrived in Raleigh and I couldn’t be happier! Part of that is because I’m running a bit warmer these days with being nine months pregnant, so open-air shoes are where it’s at. It also means digging into a part of my wardrobe that I haven’t seen much of in the last several months and being able to change things up a bit. Like most of you, I don’t have any reason to be leaving the house these days, but it’s nice to slip on sandals for a walk around the neighborhood or to grab the mail.

When it comes to sandal styles, I definitely have a type. For one, you won’t catch me in a pair of thong sandals or any style that has a toe separator. I think I allowed myself one too many blisters between my big and second toes as a kid to come within a ten-foot radius of a sandal like that. Because of that, you’ll mostly find me in double-strap or cross-strap options. I find them to be so much more comfortable and they do better at staying on my feet. I prefer neutral colors, no surprise there, because I know I’ll be able to use them for a few seasons before  I tire of them, if ever! I typically go for a flat sandal, but also love a slight wedge for extra support and comfort.

I have this leopard pair from a year or two ago and they’re still one of my favorites! Super lightweight and a fun way to add a little pop to your outfit. I have a couple colors in these simple slides that have also become a staple in my sandal wardrobe. These snakeskin sandals with the slight wedge are so comfortable and a great neutral! If you’re interested in a “the look for less” option for those snakeskin sandals, this pair and this pair (not snake, but two different straps) are great options!

    These are the kind of sandal recommendations I’ve been looking for ! Since I’ve been working from home, I want to be more dressy than usual so I can get stuff done but still be relaxed and as the weather is getting warmer I’ve been thinking about sandals !
