Five Beauty Favorites

You know that feeling when you find a pair of jeans that fits you just right? The ones that make you feel like a supermodel struttin’ down the runway whenever you wear them? It’s a nice feeling. It’s good to have those things that you know you can count on. That’s how I feel about certain beauty and makeup products, too. The ones that will work for me and perk me up, no matter how I might be feeling on any given day.

Though I love to try new products in the beauty category, I still find myself going back to the tried-and-true’s all the time. When I find something that works for me, no matter the season or what other products I’m using, I tend to hold on tight. Five of those items are this bronzing powder, this makeup sponge, my favorite lipstick, this magical undereye corrector, and a great lip balm.

The Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Bronzing Powder is gold. A true treasure. I really dislike a shimmery bronzer, so finding this one that doesn’t have a glittery finish was exciting. Plus, it’s not muddy and wears really nicely throughout the day. It’s infused with hyaluronic acid, so it stays looking fresh all day. I wear the shade medium.

The Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in the shade Morning After is my ride or die. One lipstick for the rest of time? Without hesitation, it’s this one. I wore it on my wedding day and still wear it multiple times a week! It’s not drying, wears well, and is a very pretty everyday pink.

The Becca Undereye Corrector is a fantastic product if you deal with dark under eyes. While I wouldn’t list dark under eyes as a top skin concern for me, I love this corrector for brightening up my face and eyes a bit on no makeup days. I’ll do my morning skincare routine, dab a little bit (a little goes a long way) under my eyes, and brush a tiny bit of clear brow gel through my eyebrows and call it a day! You could definitely layer it under your makeup, too, if you have particularly dark circles. It’s basically 12-hours-of-sleep in an eye product.

The beautyblender Original Makeup Sponge is the only makeup sponge I’ll use. I’ve tried knock-off brands before, but keep going back to the real thing. It’s light and fluffy, doesn’t soak up too much product, and creates a flawless finish for my concealer. I use it to blend in my concealer primarily. Sometimes, if I’m just doing a BB cream, I’ll use the sponge around my neck, ears, and hairline to blend it all in.

Finally, Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment is a great lip balm. It also comes in tinted versions, but I like this one for a clear lip balm. I have one at my desk, one in my bathroom drawer, and one in my purse! It’s hydrating and long-wearing.

All of these products are available at Nordstrom! I love shopping beauty products at Nordstrom, especially since I earn points as a cardholder. Also, they recently launched a beauty recycling program that I’m excited to use! There is so much waste in the beauty packaging industry and a tiny fraction of it gets recycled every year. Nordstrom now has Beautycycle boxes out in their beauty department where you can drop your empty makeup and beauty product containers and packaging. There’s a full list of what can be recycled here.
