Liam’s Favorite Things

It’s been a little while since I’ve shared an update on some of Liam’s favorite things! This list of things are the items that we’ve gotten a lot of use out of the last 3-6 months or so. It’s fun to look back and see how his activities have evolved and grown as he has. He just turned 21 months a couple days ago, which is wild to me. I can’t believe we’re just a couple months away from TWO. He’s growing up so fast!

He loves building towers (and knocking them down!) with blocks and the mega bloks. They’re also great for learning colors! He loves reading books, too. We always read to him before nap and bedtime, but he often will grab books in the playroom and downstairs in our family room to flip through during the day. Any books with sounds or cars are a hit! Our neighbors gave us a hand-me-down tricycle like the red one included here and Liam gets such a kick out of riding it around. He’s really close to actually using his feet to push the pedals, too! It has a little basket on the back that he uses to collect rocks in.

Aside from toys, the couple pieces of “gear” that he’s been enjoying the last few months include the “kitchen helper” toddler tower. It has come in handy quite a few times for me when preparing food. Prior to getting it, he wanted to be held to be able to see what I was doing, which obviously made food prep difficult! Now he can be up at eye level and “help” from the safety of the tower. We just recently switched him from his high chair to this booster seat. We put it on one of our bar stools, so that he can sit right up to the counter. I like that it allows him to get better practice with eating at the table and using utensils, etc., instead of just eating off his high chair tray. Our high chair converts to a toddler chair to sit up to the table, so we will be keeping it in the dining room for any meals that we eat in there!

He still loves to be outside as much as possible! I’m so anxious for it to warm up a bit, so that we can get more outside time in. He also likes to help with the laundry…and he’s actually pretty good at it! He’ll pull everything out of the dryer and put it into a basket for him. He’s proud of his work!
