Hello and happy Friday! How was your week? I knew that a lot of things would change after Liam was born, but I had no clue just how quickly time would pass by. It’s crazy! Not only do I feel like he’s growing so fast, but I’m feeling like the days, weeks, and months are passing by in record time. It’s also a very busy time with work, so my days are jam packed. I like to keep busy and have purpose to my days, but by 7pm every night, I’m beat. Is it too early to look forward to Christmas break?

Over the last month or so, I’ve added some new products to my skincare routine that I’m enjoying. On average, I wear makeup about 3 days a week. For the other days, I like to just let my skin breathe. Since I go makeup free a fair amount of time, having my skin looking good is important to me! One of the newer brands I’ve incorporated into my routine is Elemis. I actually received a PR package from them maybe a year ago and tried a few things, but it wasn’t until recently that I got more serious about my routine and started using them daily. My favorite products, so far, are the cleansing balm , the pro-collagen marine cream with SPF 30, the pro-collagen energizing marine cleanser, and the dynamic resurfacing facial pads. I’ve found everything to be gentle on my skin, but effective!

I made the chicken spaghetti from the Magnolia Table cookbook and it was so good! The only thing I will do differently next time is add a bit more chicken. Otherwise, it’s a great cold weather dish that’s very easy to make.

I’ve had my eye on some black combat boots lately, but am not quite sure if I can get there. They’re a little edgy for me, but I love how they look on other people! I do feel like I could use a good pair of flat (or nearly flat) black booties. Since I wear so many black leggings and dark colors in the fall and winter, I’d like a comfortable bootie to pair with those outfits. I’ve browsed a few places and haven’t found anything that I like yet, but will share if I do!

Mike and I are looking for a new show together! He’s just finished working his way through Breaking Bad, so he’s got some more time to devote to a new show. Any recommendations?

    Hi Lauren!!

Happy Friday! My husband and I love watching The Mentalist on Prime. It really pulls you in! My husband has a hard time binging any tv, but I’m able to get him to watch several episodes in one sitting, which says a lot!

Also, I haven’t made the chicken spaghetti yet out of the Magnolia Table cookbook, but it sounds perfect for the cooler weather in Oklahoma. Thank you for the recommendation!

If Mike enjoys Breaking Bad, you MUST check out it’s sister show, Better Call Saul. It follows Walt’s lawyer, Saul Goodman, and it is as well-written, well-filmed, and well-acted as Breaking Bad. My husband and I were avid Breaking Bad fans and LOVE Better Call Saul. Definitely worth checking out. It won’t be regretted.

If, on the other hand, you’re ready for some dramedy with some excellent 80’s nostalgia, Cobra Kai on Netflix is outstanding.

Love you, love your blog! Just a quick comment. Truly appreciate all your recs, but noticing that when I go to check them, they are very pricey! Not your fault, I know. I also know that quality skincare can come at a higher price. Just feeling discouraged that when I’d like to try your recs, really can’t commit to that type of investment. Again Lauren, NOTHING AT ALL against you whatsoever, just wanted to comment after reading your post today. Speaking specifically of the Elemis line.

Hey Lori, thanks for the feedback! Elemis is definitely a higher price point, but it’s something that I’m enjoying and using, which is what I like to share here 🙂 The Derma-E line at Walmart is another skincare line that I’ve had success with, at a much lower price point — maybe you could find something there that works for you.

If You have access to AppleTV plus, try watching Ted Lasso. It is so funny, yet heartwarming.

I have several pairs of boots/booties, but my absolute favorite pair is from Toms! I’m not 100% sure exactly which style I have (it’s from a few years ago) but they have no heel but are stylish and cute with jeans/leggings/dresses etc.
